What should be paid attention to when hatching chicks?

Good chicks are the prerequisite for raising good chickens. In order to save the cost of buying chicks, many people choose to hatch chicks by themselves, but hatching chicks can be said to be a technical task, and there are many points and precautions, so hatch chickens What problems should be paid attention to during the seedling period? Let’s take a look at the main points of hatching chicks.

The key points of chicken hatching

1. Preheat the eggs for incubation

The eggs should be preheated 12 hours before hatching. The method is to put the big end of the egg in the egg tray and preheat it at 22℃~25℃. It is best to lay eggs around 4 pm, so that the peak period of incubation is easy to work during the day.

2. Control the temperature

The temperature from the beginning of the incubation to the 18th day is 37.8°C, and the temperature for the chicks from the 19th to 21st day of incubation is 37.5°C to 37.3°C.

3. Control humidity

By controlling the humidity, the embryos can be evenly heated in the early stage, which is beneficial to the heat dissipation and shell pecking of the middle and late chicks. Under normal circumstances, the relative humidity of 1-7 days of age is 60%-70%, 8-16 days is 50%-55%, and after 17 days it is 65%-70%.

4. Ventilation and change air

The development of chicken embryos must constantly exchange gas with the outside world, especially in the late incubation period, when the embryos begin to inhale into the lungs, oxygen demand increases, and carbon dioxide emissions increase. At this time, ventilation and air exchange should be increased to keep the air fresh.

5. Turn the eggs and photograph them at the right time

It is necessary to irradiate the eggs at the right time to check the development of the egg embryos and whether the hatching is normal. The eggs should be irradiated at least three times during the entire incubation cycle. Turning the egg is to make the entire egg rack tilt forward or backward 45 degrees, and when turning the egg, it must be light, steady, and slow. If the egg does not rotate for a long time, the embryo will easily attach to the eggshell membrane, which affects the development of the embryo.

The above are the main points and related precautions for hatching chicks, I hope it can be helpful to you.
